Gaurav Mehra is a Mumbai-based Writer, Director & Editor known for his widely loved feature film 'JAMUN' (2021) & short film 'SEAL' (2018). A film school Editing pass out, Gaurav’s debut feature film Jamun (IMDB 7.3), starring Raghubir Yadav, Shweta Basu Prasad, Sunny Hinduja & Saurabh Goyal in lead roles, released on 21.1.21 and currently streams on JioTv, Eros Now (as Original), Apple TV+, Amazon Prime, Airtel Xtreme. The film got rave reviews from everywhere and it streams in 18 countries across the globe.

For the film, Raghubir Yadav was nominated in the best actor (in a leading role) category in the prestigious 7th FOIA awards (2022) alongside Ranveer Singh (83), Vicky Kaushal (Udham), while Shweta Basu got ‘Special Jury Mention’ for her performance in the film. Jamun also got officially selected at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne where apart from receiving a standing ovation, it also won Best Debutant Director & Best Male Actor awards.

 

Film Companion touted Shweta Basu and Raghubir Yadav’s performance (in the film) as a “Masterclass in Acting”.

Between the year April 2021 - November 2023, Gaurav worked with producers like Vidhu Vinod Chopra (12TH fail) and Priyanka Chopra Jonas (Purple Pebbles Pictures), Abhishek Pathak  as a writer & director.

Gaurav has also directed more than five short films including SEAL (IMDB 8.2), the biggest short film of India, streaming on ShortsTV & Humaramovie YouTube Channel) which won him the best script award at the prestigious Director's Guild, IFTDA, Mumbai, a Filmfare Nomination in best film category and, best director nomination at Critics Choice Awards, helmed by India’s top film critic Anupama Chopra. Another short film 'GUDDU' was released in PVR across India in 2019 and currently streams on Voot Originals. As a writer, Gaurav has written over Sixteen films (and series), some of which are being pitched to various platforms. He also directs advertisements.

Another short film called “THE GOLDEN EGG” was released on FNP Media on Women’s day 2024.
